A spontaneous second day of Summer with two of the most loveliest people in the world. I also realized that I've been friends with them for almost 5 years. That's half a decade! Who knew working at Gap Inc. could lead to wonderful friendships. And who would have thought that Forever 21 could produce the most gorgeous necklace I've ever laid my eyes on. I have been looking for the perfect statement necklace for years and I finally found it. This necklace could smarten up any simple/casual outfit, which is great because I'm pretty sure I dress very basic.

After we took our "ootds", we walked along Church St to check out some of the World Pride happenings. There wasn't much to see by the time we arrived but we saw a glimpse of a drag show outside a restaurant and a mini outdoor rave. Hopefully, I could watch the parade next weekend before Digital Dreams. Then I dragged them to Dundas Square to meet up with my other friend who was planning to watch Juicy J perform for NXNE. We all decided to stay for the show and oh boy, did I smell like the special herb after! It was fun nevertheless.

Pow wow

Summer has officially begun and of course, I would welcome it by wearing the most minimal clothing possible while keeping it tasteful and classy. You can never go wrong with a simple black tank paired with high-waisted denim shorts and sandals. At the moment, I'm loving necklines like the top I'm wearing in these photos. It's sexy but very subtle. And that's how I like 'sexy' to be done, the not in your face way.

Fashion aside. My friend who is part Native American took me to my first ever Pow wow. It was a such a great experience! There's just so much history in their culture and I would love to learn more about their traditions. I'm pretty sure that won't be my last pow wow and if you ever get the chance to go, you definitely should go! So after the pow wow, I ended up going back to downtown Toronto to catch some live music for NXNE. I saw Mac DeMarco, who I wasn't very familiar with, but he seems to have a cool personality and his music is very interesting. Worth a listen. But not enough for me to stick around and deal with the crowd. My friends and I ended up just walking around. We found these murals at some alley in Kensington Market. Obviously we have to stop and take photos. Every time I find interesting art around Toronto, it reminds me of how beautiful and lively the culture is here. Love my city, especially in the summer.

And, oh, enjoy a picture of me in my natural state... having a moment with my babies

[ Dress: Forever 21, Gladiator Sandals: New Look, Clutch: Lulus ]

A few years ago, these tall gladiator sandals became a trend then somehow it disappeared. But now it's coming back and it's such a statement piece to incorporate to your outfit. It can make a simple attire into something edgy. Not to mention, you'll get a lot of looks and comments like "Are you a Greek Goddess?". I'm not going to lie but it does make you feel like you're from ancient Greece.

Moving forward.

The past few months, most especially May, has been crazy. So much has happened, so many changes and a lot of new things has been introduced into my life. I'm not complaining though because I'm enjoying every single thing, especially the whole moving downtown part. I can't wait to explore my new neighbourhood and to have a new beginning!

Valentine's Day LOOKBOOK

Valentine's Day is fast approaching, which is two days away from today. Most of us are probably trying to come up with a plan for their significant others, where to go, what to eat, what to wear, etc. Well I never had a Valentine before and certainly wouldn't have one this year. But that's okay, I'm perfectly happy with that. I'll probably either spend it with my girl friends or just have a 'treat yo self' kind of day anyway, which is as much fun as doing those "cutesy" things with a lover. So anyhow, here are some of my outfit ideas I came up with. Enjoy and spread the love.

With Love,

February 10, 2014

Since Valentine's Day is coming up, I have been thinking about the concept of 'love'. Not particularly about having a significant other and the whole warm and fuzzy business. But the concept of how everyone is capable to love, to be love and to feel the love from other people. Yet, we fall short on loving our self, being love by our self and to feel our own love. Why is it that we are so busy trying to love other people that sometimes we forget that we also need to take care of our own self? Why do we feel that we don't deserve love? How can you give it when you can't fully accept and love your self? I think it's essential to start internally and learn how to make peace with who we are. My main point is that Valentines isn't just for lovers but it's also a chance for everyone to give their self the love they deserve. Treat yourself and make yourself happy!

With love,
